I visited parallel universe...

I once had the perfect sheltie. His name was Justice. He didn't bark, sat quietly at my side, did only what he was told , knew 100s of commands.

Then I got an evil Bi blue sheltie named Ember who taught him how to bark, chase things and be a rebel. Diva enforced that mind set. Now they are a hoard.

One on one all my dogs are angels. Together sometimes they are menances to society.

I notice the other Blue was not included..... is the jury still out

Justice hates him and bases none of his behvior on him.:wink2: But for the record, yes the other blue is an angel by himself and an angel with Ember and Justice(because they don't like him and won't play with him) but a menance with Diva(who is a menance with everyone except herself).

Sounds like Birch, Diva and Spitfire need to get together again and create chaos  Sca can come but he behaves, mostly :hide

Hamish and Noah were like that - they would stand and watch if you were getting food ready. Noah had a habit of circling the table when we first sat down and poking us in the seat. Then we would go lay down. I could set bags of chips on the floor and he wouldn't touch them

The three I have now are a different story. I can't set anything down, or they are into it - coffee, tea, food. They will go and lay down though once we sit down at the table.

F-kap was the perfect sheltie. Never barked, never counter surfed, never had fence fights, never begged, etc. The only thing he ever did was chew things up, and after he turned two even that stopped. He was perfect. I wasn't the best trainer and he was my first very own dog and I didn't have a clue. But everything worked itself out and we got comments from everyone of who wonderful he was.

Then he turned 5 and my dad became his 'treat dispenser'. He got feed form the table so many times. Then we moved to what we thought was a nice quiet neighborhood. All our neighbors seemed friendly and there was even sweet black lab next door. First night I got 3 hours of sleep. That lab BARKED ALL NIGHT LONG! Then after a few days F-kap learned to bark. My "perfect sheltie" was a barking, counter surfing, fence fighting, begging little BRAT! I just had to remember the good ol' days.

He's getting better though. I only have to get on to him for barking every other day (he barks every day but I only get onto him when it gets out of hand), he hasn't counter surfed in weeks, he does however have a problem with getting into 'arguments' with other dog (but I think that just because he's a grumpy old man:wink2:), and the begging is also getting much better. He still not the dog he used to be, but I wouldn't trade him for the world!:biggrin2:

I too thank my lucky stars when I read of the trials and tribulations some members are going through. Koko is a perfect gentleman, and so far his son is following in his footsteps. I can leave them in the house and return to no trash turned over or plants or furniture destroyed. I do close my closet door because Fillion does love my shoes! I have two neighbors with horrific barkers that alert my guys, but so far they haven't joined in the chorus. I am actually hoping Koko gets territorial enough to at least alert me when someone is at the door! We don't have a doorbell LOL
*knocking furiously on the wood desk as this is typed*

I had one of those for a lovely 9 years. His name is Miko.

Okay, as a puppy he chewed on things, but stopped before he hit 1. Didn't woof a bark until he was 1 also. Then only barked when people knocked on the door. No other time. I could leave a plate full of food on the ground and trust he wouldn't touch it. I could leave the door open and he wouldn't pass the threshold. In fact, I trained him to not cross anything on the ground that was at least 6" high. Yes, he'd jump over it to check out who's at the door, but he'd go right back over it after he checked it out. LOL.

Surprisingly, he only stole food after I got Koji, but that was also because XH would feed him from the table. Miko did teach Koji to bark at the door. But otherwise, he has still been the perfect Sheltie and yeah, for the most part, none of that was trained. It's just how he was. Koji on the other hand....... :rolleyes2:

Gawd how I miss those days of not caring where I leave food.

Dr. Shelli. I am soooo disappointed that Justice was so easily swayed by the blue terror.

Asta, our angel dog, had her halo become quite tarnished when Ally arrived! I call her (affectionately) my little monster.

Although Ally has NOTHING on Ember!! :wink2:

So far, Brooke is an absolute angel, but yesterday when I vacuumed, she went after the vacuum a little, after seeing Ally do it......... good grief. :eek2:
