I don't have any pictures of Revel's mum, I only saw her once very briefly. She was a sable.

Yogi's mum however, is as dear to me as he is, and the reason I have him is that because I couldn't have her, a pup was the next best thing!

Although we celebrated Mother's Day in England about 6 weeks ago, it is lovely to celebrate all the sheltie mums on here!

The mom that comes to mind when I think of the dams of my shelties is Annie. No, not my Annie, who does happen to be the mother of my Chance and Ellie. But, Gilly's mom, Annie... "Barwoods Antigua." While carrying Gilly, and his brothers and sisters, she was diagnosed with cancer. She passed only a week after giving birth. Gilly and his litter mates were bottle fed. Unfortunately, only Gilly and one sister survived. To me it seems though that Annie struggled to live, so she could have those babies and give them there much need colostrum.

Bless her heart. That second pic really shows her dignity and that's what it took for her to birth those pups in her condition.
