Is anyones Sheltie SUPER not alpha?

Romeo is that way. He lets EVERYONE push him around! His idea of standing up for himself is barking at whoever took his food/toy, etc and looking at mama for help. He IS however learning to run away when someone (Juliet!) comes after him for his pig's ear tho. Pity he's so slow.

Justice would do this as a young dog. Very outgoing, very bold but ok whatever take it attitude, especially with Jazz. As he got older, he got more accertive with all dogs except Jazz. When she passed he became undisputed top dog/ sheltie. However, he will still give up the toy if he really doesn't want it. It looks like he is sharing. It doesn't really matter to him. But if he wants it he will easily get it back, no fuss and no one will even try take anything from him when he finds it important. That is except for me, of course.

Diva has a bad habit of ripping objects out of other dogs mouths but she won't try it with Justice.

neither Che or Leo have food or toy guarding. Sammy is food resource guarding so whenever she is with me I clearly show her it is not to be tolerated. Just for safety of everyone they all get fed in their crates and given cookies/chewies at same time. Leo will defer to Che if the toy is thrown and Che is running after it. Both Leo and Che confident dogs, although Leo more so. Both Leo and Che are about chasing/ teasing each other with toys than anything else. I am teaching now new game " Ball for Che, Ball for Leo"
