Knowing the excruciating pain gallbladder and pancreatic attacks give, it amazes me how well Shelties hide their pain. I never knew the pain my Hamish was in. I have been told over and over how stoic Shelties are.

I had a gall stone stuck in my bile duct that landed me in the ER at 3 am. I rated the pain a 9 because I could imagine worse but had never felt anything quite as bad. I was sure I was dying. 2 injections of morphine to calm me down and I consider myself a stoic person. I passed the darn thing but the time they got the u/s done but the duct was all dilated and I developed secondary pancreatits. Bye bye gallbladder. I couldn't even look at food for a month.

I too am amazed how stoic shelties are.
