Brandi and Lacey went to doggie training classes with me last night for their lesson. Brandi came along as a guest in Lacey's class. But when we got there my instructor Adrienne told me that it was a waste of her time and a waste of my money to go through the same class again because we had advanced past the need to have the class. So she put me in a run through class where we are critiqued by a real AKC Rally-O judge so we will know what to work on before we enter the show ring for real at a trial.
Brandi did wonderful! She earned all but one point but I lost her four points with my shoddy footwork and lack of team work in keeping her with me through the course so she ended up with a qualifying score of 95 out of 100. Needless to say I was real nervous. I'd never run a course for real with my dogs before. We just practiced the signs, trained the dogs to follow us and didn't worry about our own foot work much.
Lacey has only had one class of basic obedience with me and has only run in rally signs for one week and she managed to get a full 88 points from our judge. We had tight leashes several times (lack of team work) and I had a do over because I didn't ask her to sit at a halt sign. It was a squeak but she qualified too! So it's up to the kids to train mama now.
I guess I'd better get to work on their PAL/ILP numbers so they can start going to trials and earn their titles. Kadin will go in run throughs on Thursday for practice on his CD title. They say he's ready too!
Hugs to all
