Jumping Into the New Year

I normally take a break from agility trials between mid-November and mid-February but this year I have a chance to attend a CPE trial in Ohio over New Year's weekend. (Normally we have family visiting so I don't attend this trial.) The trial is 3 days (Dec 31 - Jan 2) but I'll only be there Jan 1 & 2 because I have to work on New Year's Eve.

Is anyone else celebrating the New Year by trialing?

Yep--we are too! There is a new club in our area and their trial is Fri/Sat/Sun. My family definitely thinks we're crazy now

I am trialing New Years Day in a NADAC trial.Sting's first NADAC trial and I may take Shadow out of moth balls and run him.I was just looking to see what titles he has in NADAC.Should be a fun day.Good Luck at the CPE trial.

Che is making his debut in AKC Dec 31, Jan 1. He is 15 months on Dec 30.
I have no plans to start trialing heavily so it is more fun thing to do than anything. I would like to try one CPE trial just to get personal feeling what it is all about and then concetrate on training. I have not been jumping Che at 20" yet, just few tries to make sure he is not going to bolt when the bar is higher...

Us too! I am planning on having Chinook and Maia at a NADAC trial in Minneapolis on Dec. 31 and Jan. 1. This will be our very first officail trial!!!

Boy can you tell all of us love our dogs and love agility to be going to a trial over New Years eve!

I was going to, but then I couldn't figure out how I'd wake up on Jan 1 to go trial. I also knew I'd be driving a lot (from my house, to my folks, home, trial, etc). We still don't know what we're going to do with the dogs (they can't go to my folks house). Sigh. Maybe we won't be breaking in the new year with them.

Oh, also money was a reason for not. Since I'm trialling twice this month already. And in 2 weeks, we'll have a 3-day trial. Yikes!

So, are you guys not breaking in the new year? Or are you going to, and hope you can wake up the next morning on time? lol

We're entered in an AKC trial in Amarillo, TX, Dec 31, Jan 1 and Jan 2. The only thing that would keep us from going would be weather. It's a 4 hour drive on I-40, and sometimes the weather closes the interstate in the winter.

Wow....you are all VERY dedicated

I, for one, will be chilling by a fire, under some blankets with my pups sipping some beverages :wink2: But I look forward to your videos
