Justus tries an open run thru

This was our first time, across town. I signed up for a run through in open to see where he's at. We have lots of work to do with the set ups, heeling teamwork, etc. But I love his drop on recall and soon I'll have the "wait" for the retrieves... he loves the jump. have no idea why the first broad jump failed.. but I'm sure he was confused. I moved further down the jump (much further!) for the 2nd time and was pleased.

any fun ideas for nailing the set ups, first time? He did so well at the UKC trial, waiting and waiting and waiting with attention... guess we need to practice that at dinnertime...

We are in another show and go tomorrow, hope I will see improvement from this video taken last month. (paws crossed)

Oh yeah... forgot to mention we will be spending time finding front with the dumbell!

Have a seminar with Joanne Flemming coming up in a few weeks, embarrasingly, we still have that rock back sit problem. Although my results might suggest I haven't tried very hard to fix it. :/

That looked great. What a lovely working dog he is! Love his attitude :) And his bounce LOL...

But what was the judge saying to you right before the drop on recall? She was very emphatic. I thought she was scenting your dumbell at first but I guess that was just a habit for her !

Nicely done!:smile2: Oh geez I now feel like I need to get a move on with Birch. He barely knows anything for novice. Justus is like his namesake though as Justice was doing Open at 11 months. Must be the name. :wink2:

He did good last Saturday at the UKC Open run thru, a few little heeling bobbles, but he did everything with enthusiasm! And... Bobby held his out of sight sit, and did a nice UKC utility run thru! Good Boys!!!!

Wish I had video but no one is available to record us ths time.

Absolutely adore the enthusiasm of your Justus! He looks as though he's thoroughly enjoying himself. I'll also add that after training a 10" sheltie thru Utility, I much prefer the bigger sized shelties.

Arm pumps for Bobby!! You held your out of sight stays!!!!
