My husband was able to go with me to Keiran's Monday night agility class and take a few videos. It's been a while since I posted some training video for the little boy so I wanted to share a few. Keiran's doing very well but his handler could use some help. :shameful: I keep slipping back into old habits ingrained from running Edan for 8 years.

I'm VERY proud of his a-frame performance in one of videos. My instructor set up pair of jump uprights out on the floor and challenged us to try sending to the a-frame at about an 18-20 foot distance. Keiran performed it PERFECTLY! He's going to become a great distance dog if I actually put effort into training distance behavior more. What distance he has comes from learning to play treibball.

ETA - Changed the way the videos are uploaded. FB links don't seem to be playing nice with SF any longer. (They use to work, I've used them in the past.) If THIS link doesn't work I'll upload to YouTube.

Actually I rarely take classes there, this is the first time. B&D is over 1 hour away from my house so taking classes there means I don't get to bed until almost midnight on those nights and I'm up again at 5:30. I opted to do so this time for a few reasons, (1) I needed to try something different to get Keiran past his teeter issues post-fly off, (2) I needed to learn how to handle Keiran for Keiran and, (3) it is next to impossible to get into the advanced handling classes at my club. (Good problem for the club to have, it means classes are filling but it also means there aren't enough classes/time slots to handle the demand.)

Basically I did what I had to do for Keiran to be the best he can be.

well, speaking from the training site impoverished south, you are lucky to have options to take classes. If I lived at my dad's house in PA, I would definitely take classes there. his place is about an hour away too. it's just so awesome to have a place like that and not have to worry that you don't get to go to class for 3 weeks straight due to summer thunderstorms every evening. also other than my club, anywhere else that I could train or take classes is at least an hour away. and no where local has an indoor facility.
I'd say that Keiran is looking good so whatever you are doing is working......
 
Thanks. I'm hoping to start him in AKC next year. It depends on how proofed his weaves are by then. If we are home, I'm hoping to enter him in the Three Rivers Shetland Sheepdog Club's trial in June.
