Leash Tossing At Trials

Has anyone that is doing AKC or USDAA ever been reprimanded by the judge for tossing your leash at the start line at a trial?I saw it for the first time this past weeknend.:gaah

What are you supposed to do with your leash? At all the AKC trials I've been to, everyone tosses their leash on the floor for the leash runner to pick up and bring to the exit. Occasionally, someone will hand it to the leash runner, but 90% of the time, the leashes are tossed. Are they not supposed to be doing that?

hmmm in all the years i've been to an akc agility show I have never ever seen this... I usually sit mine down though as i don't like tossing it since I've been that leash runner that gets hit by leashes.. :hide but I'm interested to see what the judge would prefer them to do...

Leash Tossing

I have seen this twice in AKC and the first time was in Tenn. and the judges were very strict on it.Apparently someone got hurt and then I saw it this weekend. What I call Toss they called it throw.Just curiuos.

No but I know of one or two judges who possibly would. What annoyed me the other weekend was the least runner wanting to bend over people and their dogs and take the leash instead of letting the person running the dog decide what to do. Aurora would not have liked that and I found it to be distracting. Thankfully Athena gets carried in so I always hand the leash runner her leash but for Kai she was in the way. She waited until people had their dogs set up at the chute and reached over the dog and chute to get it

OMG
that is ridiculous
I want to toss the leash away, to avoid exactly something stupid like that, isn't that nuts?!:gaah

I can't imagine anyone at USDAA caring about something like that. They are a lot more lax re: leash rules.
