Life Jackets - Sadie Is Now A Swimming Sheltie

We often go hiking with some friends who have border collie mixes, both of which love the water and swimming. Sadie loves the water but would not swim (on purpose anyway), her fur is just too heavy when wet. I broke down and bought her a life jacket, and she LOVES it! She could not get enough of swimming in the water and caught on quickly.

This life jacket is made by Outward Hound and is very well made and comfortable. I'd definitely recommend it or any life jacket, if you want to get your shelties swimming! :smile2:

We have them for our girls! And they love them as well. I have one Sheltie that cannot swim without a vest :biggrin2:

I loved the video. There was no hesitation on her part going into the water. That is SO neat. I wish there was somewhere around here safe to take the girls swimming.
 
I'll have to think about that for next year. We tried Indy at swimming but like you say he seemed to get dragged down.

What size did you get?
 
Sadie is wearing a medium. According to the size charts she a small should have fit her but it was way too small. Sadie weighs approx 24 lbs and she's 17.5 inches tall
