Lil' Lady Refuses

As some of you might remember I lost my Lucky in February and I miss him so. Lil' Lady
doesn't. Since it rained and rained here I washed all of the bedding and covers. Ok since
the wash was going I put down Lucky's bed and cover for her. She took a sniff, looked at me
and walked away. When her bedding was done, oh she laid right down. I told her she was a
B R A T. Everything else belongs to her.

Now human I will take my treat and I want his too. I will bark until I receive his. She is unreal.
When I had my setters and the brother passed away my other setter grieved for two months until
he realized his brother was not coming back and all the attention was on him. Lucky was sooooo
good to Lil' Lady, he really loved her. December 28th she will be 11, and since she is an Ol' Lady
I kind of give her, her way. That is KIND OF, not all the time, depending what it is she demands.

I was guilty of spoiling my older ones rotten. I figured they deserved it. Especially my previous girl. She was so sweet and gentle. She was my sheltie angel from day one. She held on for me, I know she did. Once they get past 15, you just let them rule because they have earned it. Or at least that is my stance.
 
You clearly know your dogs better than we do but is this her being spoiled or her version of grief/respect. Katy and Bailey had a large mat they shared until he passed. She wouldn't use it after he died even after it had been washed, etc. She avoided toys they shared.

Annie, having no knowledge of Bailey has settled right down into Bailey's stuff. I noticed Katy laying next to the mat the other day while Annie was sprawled out in it so she seems to be starting the healing process.
 
Lil' Lady is really spoiled. She is an independent little girl. A honest to goodness brat. She has really helped me
through the loss of Lucky. Oh she knows all the attention is all hers. Lil' Lady puts a smile out faces everyday.
My english setter did exactly what you stated, he grieved for a couple of months. Since it was a situation with
being his litter mate we lost, made it very difficult.
