Looking for Canadian supplier of Detachol®

I've been looking on the internet for Detachol® to remove the glue from Maia's ears and I cannot find any place that sells it in Canada. Any Canadian's out there know where and how I can get some? Apparently the US considers this product a hazerdous material so will not ship in air without a HUGE shipping fee ($35 for a 4oz bottle that costs less than $5!!!) and I am not sure if Canada, knowing how they are at the border, will even allow it to cross the border. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Any kind of bandage remover will work, it doesn't specifically have to be Detachol. I picked mine up from Shoppers Drug Mart, just go to the counter and ask for bandage remover. From what I understand its not something they carry in abundance so you may have to phone a couple of drug stores or go to Shoppers Home Health Care where they sell less common items.

Thank you I'll try that. I tried the Goo Gone (it was mentioned on another thread here), but that was a mess and it did not do a good job at all and it too forever!

Bandage remover is a bit better, but truthfully, not much. It was still hard to remove and took a while. On the up side the smell while strong was pleasant and didn't bother Sadie nearly as much as the Goo Gone. Its not greasy which is nice, but it reminds me of lighter fluid. It evaporates very quickly (leaving a very slight residue), but its flammable so you may want to wash down the ear with soap and water afterward just to be safe.

I finally found it on eBay, I think. I think I paid $14 and it was shipped to Canada. I'll see if I can find who I sourced it from and send you the link.

Don't use Goo Gone. I tried that and the smell only made Bacca crazy.

I also went to a couple of medical supply stores looking for comparable but was never happy with what I found. When the Detachol arrived, it was a godsend. Bacca did not object at all, and everything wiped away beautifully.

Found the link on ebay.....$10 to ship to Canada. So $25 but still worth it, I think.

Thanks everyone. I just went on the eBay link and ordered it! Hope it gets here soon. In the meantime I bought another adhesive remover from the medical supply store here. It worked well, but was ether based so it smells and evaporates quickly. Thank you again. I knew I can count on you guys and gals here!!:wink2:

Something about the smell (or lack of) with Detachol that other bandage removers don't seem to have, at least in my experience!
