Low fat = more food

Ok max has allergies and we're slowing taking him off cortisone because of his pancreatitus, gall bladder. He also is hypothyroid. SO my question is because he is on low fat food should we be giving him more? Since it doesn't haven enough carb, etc I thought we maybe should be feeding him more. I feed him three times daily 1/2 c kibble, 1/4 veg and fresh chicken. Then a snack of string beans or any veg at 10. I like to keep food in his stomach because of all his issues. Any thoughts? He is over weight which concerns me but being hypothyroid the vet expected that. Any thoughts?
