Lyme Disease

I recently relocated to an area with lots of ticks and I'm very concerned about my animals contracting Lyme Disease. Can anyone recommend any preventatives to take? It's so hard to get through their fur and search for such a tiny bug... does anyone have any advice?

Dust your yard with food grade DE. Make sure that you use a dust mask when applying it so that you do not breathe it in.

Also maybe add some tea tree oil in your shampoo and mix with water and "mist" your dogs with it before they go outside.

Great! I already do the DE so that's good. I'm mainly worried when we go on walks on the many walking trails around here. I found one on me the first day we went out on them!

Ticks LOVE vines and other fleshy plants. When walking avoiding them will help some but the best thing is to keep the dog treated with flea and tick stuff (fleas are more common in fields down south also)
