My poor baby. So we got home like an hour ago from the vet because we had to get Maxy neutered. Oh my poor poor baby. He is not a happy dog at all. He is just so sad, I think mainly because he has a cone on and he doesn't like it. He is happy when I take it off but when its on he whines and grunts at me, and I tell him I can't take it off because he can't lick his healing wound (which he does). Oh my poor poor Maxy poo. I just want to make him comfortable but I don't know if i can do that with the cone on his head. I just want him to go to sleep so i can study! But he is not making it possible for me to study because of his whining and daddy won't be home for another hour so I cant just let him whine. Ugh :dead:

See if you can pick up an inflatable ecollar at petsmart/co. I had to use one for one of mine not that long ago and she tolerated it very well...it was like a doughnut around her neck so she could see and judge and drink but couldnt reach her stitches on her side.

Just remember you've done a good thing. Maxy will recover quickly.

Can you curl up on the couch with him beside you and still do your studies?

As I read posts, I read about cones, etc.. I feel so fortunate with my two. Lucky and Lady had the laser performed, and they did great. In fact I had to keep them calm, they wanted to do everything. The vet did keep them for awhile after they had their spay and neuter.

With the laser if I can remember right, they didn't have stitches. I sure can remember how well they did, and I told the vet, I can't believe how well they did afterwards. Maybe every pup or dog is different having their spay or neuter?

Your little one will be fine!!!

It's always horrible to see them sad and uncomfortable, and us not being able to explain to them why they have to wear it. We feel like they are going to hold it against us forever.

Trust me, he won't. He'll forget all about it soon enough.
Good luck!
