Medication needed and are my vaccination enough for my baby.

hello folks

i've got myself a six month old female and might need some guidance on what is needed to keep my girl healthy all year long.

so far she got two vaccinations, duramune max 5 and LCI-GP @ 8+ weeks. what other vaccinations do you guy suggest she should have? i was told to go back to the vet after 6 months for the regular vaccination. i also have not apply any tic or fleas repellant on her. we reside in singapore and regularly bring her out for a walk on paved roads and occassionally grass. so what u guys think i have to apply on her? i got no clue on heartworms or tapeworms, some enlightenment? ;D thanks.

I would definately go back to the vet for 6mthly shots esp if your vet recommends it. You shuold also check with your vet what other things are prevalent in your area.

Heartworm is a problem in the warmer, moist climates here in Australia so probably is there too. If you get the shot at 6mths you dont need to get tests done beforehand. Mine get an annual shot for heartworm, as do most people here in Australia. But I understand there have been some problems in the US with the injection.

Mine also get three monthly intestinal worm chews. They do get out in the bush and also are around other dogs (and pick up skanky food off the ground) so the chews are necessary. But I would also think, given young dogs have a tendancy for chewing on things and getting in the face of other dogs it may be worthwhile giving her worming tablets.

You should also check with your vet if there is a problem with paralysis ticks there. I only give mine flea treatment if we are going to big competitions or into tick areas.

I would think any good vet,is going to keep you on track for shots for your pup.They are standard procedures.

As far as flea & tick remedy though for where you live.But I would certainly think any dog must be on heartworm routine.
We use Revolution here,as it is a combo topical that treats,fleas,tick,heartworm,ear mites.

yes, she did have her heartworm jab and stuffs. i'm just worried i might miss any shot or have to apply any repellent for ticks and flea. i walked her alot on grasses hence comprehending on whether any repellent is required to walk her.
