Methods for Training Scent Discrimination

I've been putting off starting actual scent article training because I expected it to be extremely hard to train. Now, that Phebe needs only one more Open leg to finish her CDX, I finally started a little more than 2 weeks ago.

We've been using the Round the Clock method and I'm really happy with how it's going. Phebe loves playing the game and hasn't made any mistakes since the 2nd or 3rd day when we first started.

I would be interested in hearing about other methods for training the scent articles. I know some people use a board with the unscented articles tied down, but there must be other ways to train and I'm just curious what they are,
 
Ive seen several dogs being started with food in tubes or boxes, then the scented article is put in the box ... personally, I haven't had any trouble introducing the articles (three dogs trained)

A tie down board used to be popular around here, but I haven't ever used one.

I saw a border collie who had all his articles tied together with fishing line, except the scented one...

Good luck, that third CDX leg will be sweet!
