Morphing into a dog like creature...

Flyer is changing weekly. From a little guided missile with teeth, to a watchful, sometimes thoughtful - and occasionally, a still and focused older puppy. :smile2:

He is learning the basics and doing quite well. The clicker comes out occasionally, but I'm not as into free shaping as I would like to be...

My little puppy shows moments of brillance, and he's giving me good attention ~ some of the time. :wink2:

I think I'll keep him.

Don't you just love it when the fog clears and you can start to see your future grown up dog?! Enzo still has puppy brain a lot of the time, but I'm starting to see huge improvements in learning and focus during training sessions. Now we just have to survive adolescence...:fl lol

It is so wonderful when you see the light go on and you can almost here your baby say, finally, I get it! That's when the fun really begins. :smile2:

I had that moment this week. Cubby was doing great at school weeks 1 & 2. Weeks 3 & 4 he was a space case -- but he also was doing a major teeth drop and teeth come in. Week 5 he was ON and I was delighted. We still suck at heeling because I have not had time to practice. Well, we went out and practiced and I watched his lightbulb go on. It's not close heeling, but he went OH I SEE and now watches the feet, anticipates turns, and slows to sit with me. I was really blown away to see the brain kick in. My others were adults when we went to school and Melli truly had heel in her vocabulary. THIS was fun. I also loved watching Cubby jump and even take the tire. He was all over the agility stuff. I can see those classes in our future soon.

Glad you are having fun with little Flyer. I am really finally happy with Cubby -- meaning getting out of puppyhood. I like dogs, puppies, not so much except for cute pictures.

Yay for both Flyer and Cubby. We start school tonight. Wish us luck.

What kind of collar did you use for class? I have the time breakaway one, a harness and a regular collar as well as a martingale, but I think that one might be too big for the princess just yet. I'm not sure which one to use and plan on bringing all of them to see what my trainer recommends.

Cubby wears one of his 3 collars (the bling, the liberace, or the breakaway). I use his harness. I told the trainer that he can't stand anything on the neck being pulled so harness it is. I would have liked the martingale, but he goes nuts. The trainer told me as long as he doesn't pull, I can use the harness.

Lacey walks nice. I would use her harness.

My guys wear martingale collars to training, buckle collars for everyday. I have a harness somwhere, but unless he's going tracking, we don't need one.
