I call Marley my "fluffer-fluffer-face" :lol: While I puff up his amazing white chest fur! He reminds me of royalty the way he stands and his to die for coat!

Question: When dose a Sheltie fully develope it's coat?

Marley dosen't have as much as the sheltie's I have researched on the net. And, I was wondering if we should be expecting a fuller coat? Marley is 8 1/2 months old.


Here is a pix of his stunning coat : ) Do you think it will get fuller?

It can take up to 3 years for them to fully get their coat.

I think on average its more like 1-2 years but it depends on the dog :smile2:
 
Awsome to hear! Im excited!!! I looove to brush Marley, then run my fingers through his soft fur! He is like a soft teddy bear, I can't stop hugging him :lol:. My other two little tough guys have very short coats. They are my swimmers!
 
I have three, and each girl's coat is different. Layla always had a full, silky coat, and even as a puppy she looked like a Sheltie in miniature after three months. Bits looked like a cross between a coyote and a Sheltie put together by committee -- what a funny looking dog! Now she has this incredible wealth of coat, like a giant tribble. Annie Laurie has a shorter, wavier mahogany sable coat, shorter all around than either Bits or Layla. Just like people, each one has her own style!
 
My 11 month old girl has very short fur compared to her brother.. she is also alot smaller and lighter.. Her brothers coat is full and bushy like the above posted pic but her's is very short still but very silky and soft.. I guess she will grow into it sooner or later!
