My Tinkerbell

My first Sheltie was born in 1989 and passed over in 2004 just shy of her 16th birthday. It's still hard to think about her and look at her pictures without choking up a bit. This is a good place to memorialize her.

Tink aka Stinkerbell was a super intelligent dog who knew more English than most of the high school graduates I see. She was incredibly loyal, fearless, and adored people, especially babies and toddlers, which was a mystery to me because my daughter was 11 when Tink came home as a 8 week old puppy. She went absolutely nuts when she saw little kids and was so gentle with them. She was also a pig with fur who never met a food she didn't like.

Terrified of thunderstorms but didn't hesitate one pico second before attacking a copperhead. A diva of the highest order, she only slept on rugs or pillows and the higher they were stacked the better!

This photo was right before a bath! I had her groomed once and she just didn't look like herself so we let her fur go "wild." Combing and brushing her was a real job as her coat was huge. Thankfully, she was excellent about staying close to us and not wandering off because she looked just like a fox!

I miss you Tink.

Tink was beautiful. I love the look in her eyes. Thank you for telling us about her. I understand how you feel, my first sheltie, Tiger, passed at the age of 14 in 1986 and my second one, Fonzie, at 17 in 1992 and I still get choked up when I think about them. These wonderful little creatures bring such joy into our lives and when they leave us it creates a big hole in our hearts that never quite heals. But with the pain there also comes a flood of glorious, wonderful memories of them and how they made our live brighter. Thank you again.

Thank you Shelley.

What a great tribute to Tinkerbell, aka, Tink. People who have never allowed themselves the joy and comfort of being close to their furkid has missed out on life's best. We all know exactly how you feel. It's okay to be sad and really miss them no matter how long they have gone to the bridge. My Jewel passed 10/26/2007 , and I still talk to her and cry sometimes. My husband does as well. We have the ashes of both Jewel and her momma figure, Tasha, who just passed 12/3/08. Jewel went far too soon she was only 10 Tasha was 14 and was loaded with tumors that came on so suddenly. They are both with us forever in our hearts and memories. Never to be forgotten. Keep Tink alive forever in your heart and the heck with what people think. It's because they have not allowed themselves the greatness of a furkids love and unconditional at that.:wink2: Okay off my soapbox now.

That is beautiful! Thank you for sharing your love for Tink with us. It is amazing how they touch our lives and make life so much better and sweeter. She is waiting at Rainbow Bridge, along with the rest of our babies. Eversince I saw Terdonal's pictures of the windchimes with the name of his beloved shelties written on the windcatchers, I decided to do the same and now I remember my Dorian, each time the wind sings through my windchime, which is outside my bedroom window. I find I speak to him everymorning now.

:smile2: What a spectacular face! And I love "Stinkerbell." I call ours "you little morons" or "you vermin."
