Many of you know that I have a hobby called Dog Braids. In a nutshell, I am using satin cording and doing a round braid in 1/4" and 1/2" diameters. I can make collars, martingales, lanyards, and leashes. In the past 3 months I have sold a lot and donated money to sheltie rescue. I have also donated items to online auctions and sheltie group raffles and such. That's the backstory -- I am not advertising or anything. For me, this is a business in that I can make some for people who want them (esp. lanyards for all my husband's co-workers), but moreover it is for the tax deductions and helping dogs in need. I am making them most of all just to donate them, like knitting for veterans and such.
What I need is this . . . I have swivel clip lead hardware (large & small) but I also have slip lead hardware that I add a locking carabiner to making for a slip lead that can be used as a clip lead too (convertible).
I am looking for a sheltie or all breed rescue or three to donate specifically the about 70 convertible slip & clip to that I can make. I know there are rescues who like to send dogs home on slip leads because there is less risk of them pulling out until the owner can get martingale and such. It would be good to send these home because they are slip and then the adopter can add the clip and have a nice fun useful leash.
If you know of any shelters (sheltie or all breed) who specifically like to send home their dogs on slip leads, please post/PM me. I will contact them and see if they would like me to donate to them. I have kind of been round robin-like making one of each configuration (thick & thin swivel clip & slip) between orders but I would be very happy to focus on the slip for awhile and get some in the hands of shelters who want them.
