Well many of you have read my posts on Mia,and how she has got "lost" in the way back fence lines,and not able to find her way to the back steps.
So in the last couple of weeks,we have been working on something with her,that really has helped.
Her fear of the flashlight has been improved,but we do not shine it directly on her,as the bright steady light,we found is what was scaring her so.That happened the first time she was way out back,and unknowingly I was using a flashlight to go find her.The light put her into a tight huddle on the ground,and it really scared her.
So I tried something last week,and it is really working with her. At night,if I see she is way out in the yard somewheres,I quickly turn the light switch on and off very quickly.Since she is light sensitive in that one eye,the flashing of the light,gives her direction to the door.
It is working perfectly.It does give her a huge burst of zoomies though...she zooms all the way to the back step. It's almost like she is really happy,and she automatically comes to the back steps.
