Hi all. I bought Sandstorm a very thin rolled leather martingale collar from the leatherleashstore.com
I got a nice brown leather and stainless steel chain one. Not too expensive at $26.50 total price, I will get it in about 2 weeks. I measured Sandstorms neck using the guide at leashes by design- two measurements like the picture on the site demonstrates-one for the neck, the other around the neck and the top of the head in front of the ears. I then calculated that we needed the 15 inch one.
I am hoping that this collar should be easier to use, as I don't have to constantly adjust it. I also am hoping it will perform better- that it will tighten appropriately if SS pulls, which he does sometimes. If it is a perfect fit this would solve that. Does anyone else use these?

I can't believe I'm going to say this.....

After loving my Leashes by Design martingale collars, I think I need something new for Indy. For so long, I've been an advocate of the "narrower" the better, but now I'm finding that the narrow collar gets more tangled in his ruff. Its not a problem for Bacca though. He's still lies perfect around his neck without tangling. Indy has very soft fur which is prone to tangle and matts. Bacca's is alot coarser, and more true Sheltie like.

Which one did you get???? Thanks for sharing this link. This all look like good options.

I am interested in hearing how it works because we have trouble with Brie because she backs out of collars. Her small head and really thick full ruff make it hard to fit collars on her. We use a nylon slip collar to walk her because we can't risk her backing out of the collar and running.

I got the thin non-adjustable one shown as the "best seller". I got a brown one, 9/32" thick ( a tad more than 1/4", by my calculation), and the chain is fine stainless steel. The price is below. It will take awhile to get here, 3 weeks.
