Sparky, who's 19" and 45lbs but not overweight, was diagnosed with arthritis when he was 5. Our vet prescribed Cosequin and Rimadyl and he's been doing great ever since. He loves running around in our backyard and still jumps up on the couch (although he needs help occasionally).

I would consult your vet again, have some more tests run, and see what they recommend before trying any supplements, etc.

Welcome to you and Scooter! You might want to try Vibrant Pets -- several of us here swear by it! It's kept our arthritic Bitsy Boodle going for years!

www.vibrantpets.net. And if you type in SHELTIE as the promo code, Lee gives you 20% off!

I agree with the above from Chris and also welcome both you and Scooter.

Our Mally is arthritic and 8 years old. Vibrant Pets has been a Godsend for him.
If I forget to give it to him on top of his breakfast, he is limping the next day.

Note: Vibrant Pets also helps his digestive tract.
