Not Cushing’s....but now what?

Our 11 year old female Sheltie, Lexi, has been on Science Diet CD food (very low protein) since she was about 5 years old due to crystals in her urine and her predisposition to UTI's. The vet told us she should stay on this food her entire life. Cushings was ruled out 2 years ago. How common is this in the Sheltie world?

I agree with everyone about a sonogram. Also, which Cushing's test was performed? Did they do a full adrenal panel? My dog has Atypical Cushing's, which means she has many of the Cushing's symptoms, but her cortisol is normal. However, her sex hormones are high. She has diluted urine and extreme fur loss. The test for Atypical Cushing's is similar to the ACTH test for Cushing's, they just test the sex hormones as well.
