November Agility Pensacola 2021

Fun fun!! I am a long way from any trial, but Minnie and I are getting so much better, and Minnie has so much fun! We need to learn distance, we're working on it, but it is slow going sometimes. She now does 12 weaves and is so proud of herself! I love watching your agility videos, you and your dogs make it look easy but I know it's not!
don't forget that I've been doing this since 2011 and Jocu and Destin are my 3rd and 4th dogs to compete.
Fun is what it's all about:yes: congrats on the 12 weaves- Destin only got reliable earlier this year. we do still have more work on the weaves to get him where I want him to be:winkgrin:

Yes, fun is what it's supposed to be! And it is, according to my instructor, I've gotten much better, yay! I can now tell her what I've done wrong and how to correct it.

It’s a learning experience as much for us as it is for the dog! I remember an instructor kept telling me to drop my shoulder (I’d lift it to see if he was beside me) when heeling with Piper...I didn’t realize I was doing it and until I videotaped myself and saw it I couldn’t stop it lol...

I've only taken one beginners agility class. I do one on one classes with my instructor for an hour a week at her house. We've been doing it for about a year now. She never bothered to become certified, but she is excellent and so encouraging. She filmed me once, which can be useful.

Not aware of any kind of instructor certification for agility
Video is amazing for review and learning and it's great that you can figure out what to do to fix something

Oh! I thought that because my instructor wanted to teach a class again at our local dog club and the owner said she had to be certified. Maybe she meant as a dog trainer. Yes it is a huge improvement for me to be able to self correct my own mistakes!
I just learned that my instructors best agility dog died, she was 14 and weighed 13 pounds.
