helloz everyone,

i'm currently on nutro max puppy formula food (dry), but my mom's a little bit concerned as her friend just told her to change my food to something else that has better ingredients, also that some of their products were recalled.

i don't think i have problems, though, with my food, but i do scratch every once in a while. i've always thought that it was only dry skin problems or the weather as it is getting hot already :cry:
i also throw up and have loose stools sometimes, but not that often. and i think the giardia causes them both.

does anyone have an opinion on my mom's concerns? and what would everyone recommend her for a new dry food, if she does decide to change my food?

please help us and i thank everyone in advance for sharing :smile2:
 
It's a great question, and one that keeps all of us Mom's awake at night.

I had both my boys on Pro Plan. While they were having no issues (and I was firmly on the page of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"), I just kept reading that I could do better.

So I took the plunge and have justed started Orijen. The boys love it! It's expensive, but on Dogster, there is a thread comparing the cost per calorie of Orijen against a grocery store product (might have been Beneful). I can't find the thread again, but I recall the extra cost per year was minimal.
 
we just got a recommendation on chicken soup and breeder's choice' APD, does anyone have experience with those two brands and would like to share it with us?

I looked briefly at Chicken Soup but didn't feel like I was going to get much more from it than their current diet. It was not Grain Free, and neither was the protein content significantly higher.

That being said, it still rated high, and was probably my second choice.
