Has anyone heard of this? http://www.openfarmpet.com/

I was buying dog food and saw a sample of Open Farm dog food and the woman who works there told me it was a free sample, to take it. Then she explained to me that you can enter the lot number on the bag, into their website, and it'll tell you where all the food comes from. For those that are super picky, this is a great thing.

Here's the lot number from my trial bag so you can check it out: T307150FTC (those are zero’s)

Depending on what you're looking for, this could be another good brand to try. I'm personally not sure how I feel about the russet potatoes being in the top 5 ingredients, mostly because that's what caused Miko's allergies. And the protein is pretty high (30%), well, higher than I'd like to feed my two.

Thought I'd share.

Never heard of it. I think they have a good idea with the being able to show where the ingredients come from. I don't know if it's something I would feed, but it would be nice of other high quality brands followed their lead and also gave an option to look up where the ingredients come from.

The other thing I liked is that they show a pdf of lab results testing for e. coli and the sort. Honestly, it's not a sure thing by any means, but the fact that they are trying to be transparent is nice. I say trying, because we don't know the full story and may never. Look at Blue Buffalo, right?

I just liked what they were doing. And figured I'd see if anyone had heard anything about them.
