miss belle decided she was NOT going to be stuck in a bin anymore PERIOD! this little 10 week old cutie is like heck no i want out and climbed right out. so yep i do know for a fact that she did climb into my bed with me out of her bin, last week sneeky little devil. jake never did that one lol! i have a small carrier crate that is good for her now she can turn around and lay down in it, though its small. so walmart.com had a 24" one for $27 with no shipping or tax so i bought it. my purpose is to potty train her, that will be the only reason for her to be in a crate.
she doesnt make sense to me, half the time she will do both outside, then half the time she is pooping inside. she is sleeping in my bed with me since i dont make her stay in the small crate, and nothing on my bed, wakes me up with paws in the face about 5am to go outside and will do both. i have a queen size bed so she sleeps right next to my pillow on the other side of the bed. though she does have a thing about sleeping in my hair for about an hour before she moves. (also chews and plays with my long hair. lol!).
i think though i need to get more consistency with her though, and here is where the problem is going to come in. i am starting my new work at home phone job tommorow. im trying to do as late of hours as possible so maybe she will be sleeping, and not crying to be out of the cage. i have one bird now, so no tony going after her, i adopted him to a sweet couple, and he has his normal fun personality back. and skye is so sweet as usual. so its gonna be interesting keep my zoo quiet.
anyway, what is the best suggestion on crate training and keeping them from whining.( and oh my goodness is jake protective of her. she still cant get up the porch steps so i carry her in. (but go figure she can get out of her bin and down the stairs.) jake goes nuts barking at me. )

I'd say by the 8th week it starts to click, they still have accidents especially if your not watching them like a hawk!! but by 3-3 1/2 months they are fully trained. Of course there are exceptions some get it quicker than others, but that is a rough guide.
