Pancreatitus

I cant find where I wrote it...I thought it was on the back of her vet slip, but its not :(...but still for some reason ICT is sticking in my head...also I came across there is a cPL test both in send out labwork and they even have snap tests, not saying that your vet carries the snap version...but its something else to look at...

It is what it is called idiopathic pancreatitis. There is no definite cause - infection, exposure to chemicals, bile duct obstruction, gallstones. This is what both my Hamish and I had - pancreatitis without a known cause. You can get the diagnosis but you can't figure out what caused the problem. Even in humans sometimes it can't be determined. With us, alcohol is another cause.

I had read about the snap test. We have a call into my vet this morning. I want to meet with him and discuss the results. Even though there are no signs, with spec cpl at 1000 something is going on with the pancreas.

I am almost positive he had this when we rescued him and I doubt he was on any steroids or thyroid meds because of his odor and all around look. But he was only 2 and a half yrs old then!
