Pico grows up

to be honest, we haven't worn it much. he walks so much better on a martingale collar.
Walking on a harness only seems to work at the beach with other dogs around (pack walk).
So I focus on walking/training with the collar and hope we can use the harness more as he gets older.

Looks like the right size from the pict and I see he can carry stuff too-- like that will happen huh? I really like harneses since they are so secure and so I hope he gets used to it and maybe a snack or two from one of those pockets...

at most it will carry poop bags and small amount of treats. the pockets are pretty small.
he does wear a harness at the beach every weekend (full harness with handle) so I know it doesn't bother him, but a harness, martingale, and normal collar all at the same time gets a bit much. He only wears the martingale while walking/hiking, his regular collar with ID and such is a flat breakaway one that he can't get into trouble with.

hiking with his smaller harness this morning.

I kinda got lost. the trail I took didn't go exactly where I thought it did and the return took longer than expected.
Pico didn't mind. In fact, he never wants to go back in the car after a hike even though he sometimes is recalcitrant while hiking.

The trails, look nice and rustic and probably scenic..do you run into lots of people with dogs on those trails and if so are most of them off lead. Where I live on trails like that nearly everyone has their dog off lead which is frustrating...

this one I rarely see dogs and always on leash.
Our other hike we do see off leash dogs (about 25-50%) as it has a designated off leash area and quite a few more dogs. thankfully Pico isn't really reactive and most owners leash their dogs when they see a dog hiking. (we don't go to that off leash area, btw)
