I have been trying to be proactive in keeping Kobe's teeth clean. I started using a product called Leba lll & it seemed to be working but then I became concerned because it contained some alcohol. I recently purchased a product called Plaque Off which contains a natural seaweed. I've read good results with this as well. My concern is if any of these products could have a negative effect. Anyone have any experience with Leba lll or Plaque Off?

If you're talking about Proden Plaque Off, I swear by it. All my dogs are on it and it does help keep their teeth clean, although you should still brush regularly. The only potential issue with Plaque Off is that kelp should not be given to a dog with thyroid issues, so avoid it for a dog with that condition.

I have been having exceptional results with Perio Support. I just sprinkle it on every meal and the plaque is just vanishing. Mine weren't too bad to start though because Melli was done in Nov., Shay in Feb., and Cubby never at age 2. I use a bully stick every couple weeks for extra scraping.

After years of struggling with toothbrushes my vet showed me a much easier way to clean the teeth. Put some gauze on your finger, moisten it, dip it in toothpaste and rub the dogs teeth. The dogs are much better with this approach and I find it so much easier, wish I'd known about it years ago and before I brought the dental wipes with chlorohex. I'm not keen on adding anything into their food or water (although I did buy some years ago), for one the cats share the water with the dogs, but also I worry what something designed to remove plaque will do to their stomach.
