Poo Problem.

Hi everyone, got a little problem here and hope to get some insight.

Since the weather is nice, I have been taking Sammy out for walk/jog more often now.

Whenever we go out, she would make extremely soft (and yellow) poo, which is very difficult to pick up, which makes for embarrassing situation. She does it very early in the trip (within a minute), so it isn't like after 20 mins of exercise. She doesn't always poo when we go out, but the soft poo happens every time.

However, when she poo at home, it's solid and look perfectly normal. So I don't think this is related to her diet.

I guess one solution would be to make her poo at home before we go out, but sometimes I am in a hurry to get her out of the house that isn't possible.

Is this common? Will she grow out of this (she is 4 months old now).

It could be the excitement of going for a walk. Our girl did that and still does at the age of 5. Our husky also does this and we have put it down to excitement. I don't think it anything to worry about but it is messy to clean up.

We had a lab who used to do this too. When my daughter & son-in-law would take him for a walk, they'd come back laughing about Sampson having the Hershey squirts on the way.

Maybe she'll outgrow it as she gets more used to walks.

Hollie always did that when we would take her to Petco. We started calling it "poopin Petco".

One time we didn't even notice she was going as we were walking down the isle until someone was laughing at us. What a mess to clean up.

Darla has always done this too, she will void everything on our walks, even if there isn't much to void! Hugo has recently started doing it too, I think they are just getting into 'hunt mode' where they empty their bowls before the hunt. Very handy for toilet training though

Jagger humiliated me on a walk the other day by squatting right in the middle of the street and depositing some poo. At least I had the poop bag with me! I had to laugh ... really? right here?

If you can't pick it up, just make a show of picking it up. It's perfectly biodegradable, and no one at any kind of distance is going to notice.

I'm SO glad that Hollie doesn't come to MY store! Hard enough to deal with the dog's spraying the cat furniture!
