So gang, we've got some choices here! Increase our fees or help Kelly with advertising dollars.

We know there are number of dog sites out there, many of them have Sheltie specific gee-gaws. Perhapa we can do a membership blitz that encourages them to advertise on site.

Personally, I'm going to go to my martingale supplier that I've been hyping for so long. I'm also going to go to my food supplier too.

Kelly - what key messages should we pass along to help you get the advertising that you need?

FYI...I also noticed on that forum that members there don't have option for their own personal gallery? Well, if that is the case than Sheltie Forums is WAY better. :lol:

Actually, I do. I just have not advertised it yet. I'm being shy on the photo site. Not ready to compete in the big leagues!
 
Ah, I see! I visited a few random members with high post counts & didn't see a gallery for any of them.

There are many ways to help support the site, but the best way is to spread the word to Sheltie friends!

  • If you are a breeder, encourage your puppy buyers to become members.
  • If you visit other forums, try to mention this one & post a link to it.
  • If you are involved with rescue, mention the sites to adopters.
  • Visit advertisers you see on Sheltie Nation or the forums.
  • Click on a Sheltie Nation Amazon ad before buying via Amazon. You can learn more here.
  • Buy a Sheltie Nation decal.
  • Buy a SN branded item via Cafe Press. (SN gets a small $1.00-$3.00 referral fee for every logo item sold.)
  • Become a Sheltie Forums premium member.
Barb your idea of contacting vendors you frequent is a great idea!

I know times are tough for many of us, so I don't like to harp on the $ side of running the forum. I will let you all know if things get tight with space or I need to pay more for hosting. But my hope is the forum will grow with new Premium Members that will offset any hosting fee increases.

The members here are the best! :winkgrin:
