Prednisone Problems

Gavin was on Prednisone for maybe 12 weeks last year september-november because of a terrible flea allergy that ended up covering half his rear leg/groin area. I have had nothing but problems since then :(
He has a mild ear issue with ear wax (been to vet twice, says his ears look fine), he has dandruff (lots of flakes, never had them before), and a histiocytoma (appeared in october, normally clear up on their own in a few months).

All of these are probably related to his poor immune system being suppressed for so long. None of these issues alone are enough to take him to the vet, but I will make an appointment for him as soon as I get a job (been out of work for 6 months and unemployment ends next week). Gavin has always been super healthy, but at 8 years old I guess he takes longer to bounce back. I had no idea things could be like this just because of the steroids; now I know.

I know the low income issue. The pro biotics are good but for now vibrant pets and fish oil should be enough. If you have a trader joes near by, get there coconut oil and melt a teaspoon and put over his food. It's so good for all of us.

Gavin is getting better, it just takes sooo long!

His ears are getting better. I have been using a colloidal silver ear wash

<http://www.amazon.com/For-Animals-Solutions-Liquid-Health/dp/B000OUY5L6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1392926765&sr=8-1&keywords=ear+wash+silver>

and the slightly red inflammation is gone, and the ear wax is less.
I might have to buy another bottle, but it seems to be working :D
