Problems as adults, and how to prevent them?

.The rule of 7 is a good basis for beginning to socialize these pups. I firmly believe in getting them out and about, in my arms until they have some protection through vaccination, from about 7 weeks on. Also, by day 49 they are capable of learning just about anything but their attention span is small so 3 - 4 minutes of learning followed by a rest period works really well. You can do it - I have faith in you.

I too believe that getting them out and about is essential. We put our pups in the car starting at 5 weeks and just drive them around. Birch was carried everywhere he until he had his 2nd vaccination but before that he never stayed home. Just use common sense.

My daughter is raising the male, and I am raising the female. Right now they are still spending a lot of time together, but we make sure they get time with us, one on one, every day as well. Amber took her pup out for a walk today, carrying him. I am going to start taking my baby, Alex, with me out and about at 6 weeks old, once she has had her first shot, of course carrying her. We are going to start working on the rule of 7's starting this next week, when they are 6 weeks old. My daughter will be on spring break so it will be excellent timing. From then on they will go everywhere we go, just being carried. Of course, they won't go with my daughter to school. Not until her male, Xander, is fully trained of course.

I have faith that these puppies can do it. I am so glad for your all's support. It seems that maybe this was meant to turn out like this.
