Proin side effects

my elder sheltie Tybee just started Proin on Wed and the product worked overnight after one dose but she is now having great difficulty walking & cannot get up the porch steps
has anyone experienced this or other side effects
she has been doing extremely well using Vibrant Pets since Christmas for her pelvic injury
might there be a drug reaction between the two?
I have stopped the Proin & she seems better
am on the phone with the vet this morning

that's very possible as she has improved since my question was posted
has anyone tried the Leak no more product?
I can launder towels for her bed easily but keeping her clean is tough
this little street dog says no touching back there
don't think she would take to a diaper either
 
I'm not familiar with Proin, but wanted to let you know that I'm thinking of you and hoping that your vet will be able to help Tybee get past this setback.
 
I never heard of Proin either. Trusting one of the veterinarians here on the forum can give their input. I hope Tybee feels better soon.
 
I have never seen weakness with Proin. Usual side effects are not eating, restlessness and irriatility. But literature says with a large overdose, you can see heart and central nervous system effects. It could be possible that Tybee is sensitive to it. Definitely talk to your vet. May just need to lower the dose.
 
Proin and Tybee update

hi everyone
our Tybee is doing better
the vet immediately found a tender area at her pelvis injury
the fracture makes her walk/limp differently, not the normal gait
and by compensation she will have more injuries
arthritis will set in with advancing age
keeping her slim is vital
steroids & muscle relaxers were prescribed
and the Proin will be re-started for her incontinence problem
we are still waiting for thyroid results but the other tests were good
