Puppy fuzz--how much?

My Olive was very fuzzy when we brought her home at 8 weeks, and now at 17 weeks, she is fuzzier than ever. I think I've added a picture here, but it's my first time trying it on this forum. Hopefully I did it correctly.... So, is this normal for a sheltie puppy at 17 weeks? I've had six shelties over the years, and none of them were this fuzzy as a puppy, even though they developed marvelous coats as adults.

Lovely!

I think this is a tendency seen more in tri's than any other colour, but I could be wrong.

I have pictures of Indy as a young pup (I got him at 10 months) and he was and is still fuzzy (as compared to my sable Bacca who was bald for the longest time - and still is to some extent).

I wouldn't complain....just invest in some good brushes! Methinks you've got a grooming career ahead of you!

Birch was quite fuzzy as a small puppy. Now he is quite smooth as his puppy fuzz is changing over to adult. His brother and sister are 3x as fuzzy still.

Not too concerned about it because his dad looked the same way as a puppy until he was about 14 months.

We just placed one of Diva's puppies who we are growing out in a show potential show and lord that puppy has the biggest coat I have ever seen
