I know that some poster's would disagree with this suggestion, but Bacca has done well on Dingo Dental Bones - these are rawhide chews with a little sliver of some dehydrated chicken, parsley and choorophyll for flavour. I give him the small size and it will last him a few days.
I've found that this seems to curb most of his vigourous chewing. He'll still grab a blanket or pillow if he can get his jaws on it, but mostly mouths those.
Bacca is 8 months old.

p.s. I used carrots too, but the benefit was short lived. He can devour a carrot in seconds. I use carrots normally as rewards these days. He does love them!

) My gourmands are so picky about treats that they'll actually drop most rawhide back at my feet and look at me like "how dare you try to tempt me with this" 
but they love the Dingo bones. The little goof balls and small knotted bones are their faves and they're great for puppies.
