I've fed nothing but raw for 13 years. I would LOVE to have a fresh source of chicken and rabbit for the guys. But are you asking how to start feeding raw? Not sure what exactly to respond to
I'm confused too. Sounds like she is planning to feed the rabbits and chickens raw but I'm guessing she does that already. So is planning on feeding her dogs the rabbits and chickens she farms?
I've ALWAYS wanted to raise and hunt for my own food and my dogs food, I love living out in the country and I love compleat independence. I'd probably move to Alaska if I didn't hate the cold so much. I'm trying to get into feeding raw myself, and don't know much. So I can't give you any advice there. But give your friend my best wishes. I think it's cool for anyone to be able to do this, financially AND mentally!
both rabbit and chicken are excellent, especially home raised, since you know how the animals are cared for. The only thing I have to add is rabbit does not have a lot of fat (practically none) so it can not make up more than 50% of the dogs diet.
Thanks everyone. Sorry I was unclear and yes my friend wants to start feeding rabbit. I will pass onto her the info regarding the low fat content. Thanks again.
