so we were in PA for summer vacation which included a reunion, one day at a rally trial that was held with conformation and obedience and a weekend of agility.
Cranberry was entered in Rally Excellent A and Jocu was entered in Rally Novice B. Cran was the only A dog, there were several B dogs in Excellent.
The course wasn't bad- only one jump that was used both directions but the first jump was early in the course and triggered Cran to start barking. His heeling wasn't as good as usual so I know we lost points for that as well as the barking. We did manage to qualify so Cran has his first leg in Excellent now. The judge was very nice and explained what she deducted for the barking when we finished the course. After getting our ribbons, she also mentioned that he barked when I insisted he do something- like get back in heel position or sit. so we have a few more things to work on.....
There were supposed to be 5 dogs in Novice B and 4 in Novice A. One Nov A person and me were the only people walking the novice course. I left the ring and went to my chair to put my map down and the ring steward called my number so I had to get Jocu out of the crate and put his leash on and head to the gate. luckily we weren't far - it was a pretty small building so I only brought one crate in and just swapped the dogs in it.
Jocu did very well- I'm sure that we had a tight leash in a couple areas but we managed to do everything and qualify. since none of the other dogs in his class showed up, Jocu got first place and it was also for his title so he got a pretty rosette too.
The Novice A team also did well and got first place too
no videos but will post pix soon.
