Hello my agility experts!
My girl is working towards her MACH. In fact, if it wasn't for her hatred for the table at competitions, she would probably have 3 MACHs by now. She's getting older, so I don't how much longer her agility career will be. I also don't want to push her just for a title. She's loves agility and her having fun is most important, but of course a MACH would be a nice little cherry on top.
So for the table, she has no issues with the table in class and she has no issues with the table during training. She runs to it and is excited to train on it for treats. But during competition runs, is a completely different story. The second she hears me say "table", she starts barking and will run passed it or stop right in front of it and I will have to beg her to get on. There's obviously something in her that changes during a trial. I'm thinking her adrenaline is just too high and she doesn't want to stop or she knows during trials she doesn't get treats until the end? There's just something that she associates the table with at trials that she does not associate it with during class and training.
Any ideas on how I can train her out of this hatred for the table during trials, besides feeding her on it during training?
