Run-thru videos

I finally uploaded a couple videos from our most recent run-throughs a couple weeks ago. We have noticed a new problem with Lexi (learning to power down to enter the weaves and stay on the table) and are dealing with the same old problems with Bentley (contacts).

Despite those things, I'm still excited about how the two are progressing. It's nice to do a full course run-through every once in a while to keep track of where we are.

Here are a couple videos:

Lexi Standard (she did very nicely here except for the weave entry and table, as I posted above). Her weave entries are doing much better these days.

Bentley Standard (he gets his dogwalk, but misses the a-frame!)

Lexi Steeplechase (so nice despite my bauble at the a-frame the second time around) Have no idea why it's so blurry.

Bentley Steeplechase--different course (proud of his tunnel send here)

Anyways, things are going well. And I'm getting really excited (and nervous!) for Lexi's first trial. We are working really hard on teaching her to power down. Let's hope it pays off!

Yep very nice, I love the way they both weave Cosmo is so methodical when doing weaves where as your guys just bounce right through, and you are right , Bentleys tunnel send out was awesome.

Great job! Love the runs. Lexi is going to be a great agility pup. Bently is already well on his way to being great!

What's steeplechase? Is it a game? I think I've heard of it but don't know specifics. :confused2:

Nellie
Steeplechase Is basically, Fastest dog with the fewest faults in it's class wins, courses are usually jumps tunnels,A- frame and weaves, but tend to be more wide open and usually have a better flow then a std Jumpers layout to promote faster speeds .

Exactly. It's a USDAA National Qualifying event, meaning that if you Q twice in that, plus twice in another national qualifying even, you are qualified for USDAA Nationals.

I finally got a chance to look at these.

Lexi is looking a bit out of control but dang, she's so fast!!! Yup, looks like she needs to learn how to collect herself before things (weaves, table). Koji looked like that not too long ago (granted, he didn't have that kind of speed...ever, lol). It's such fun to watch dogs like her and Sting. Baby, but fast and they are having fun! On her second video, I kept thinking...why does it look like Koji is walking compared to her? LOL. Honestly, she's doing great. Relax for April, you guys will do great!

Bentley, what happened to that A-frame? Naughty boy. He's looking great too. I hate to say it, but we're so nitpicky about their performance, you have got to know that he's come a long ways since you started. He's got so much speed and distance, it's great. I have yet to work on distance. Sigh.

Both dogs are looking great Ashley. You and your husband have done a great job. I could nitpick the runs, but I think you do that enough yourself, hehehe. Was good to see you in a tank top instead of a heavy jacket too. I like the cold versus the heat, but I hate having to wear a big jacket to run or tons of layers.
