I been showing both Ember and Diva this weekend in Lake Elmo MN. This weekend is Ember and Diva first time in Ex B standard and Ember's first time in Ex B JWW. Diva was still looking for that last AXJ leg.

Ember was the first dog in 12" Std. She really never seemed comfortable on course. She had 2 refusals and a run out which is so unlike her as her issue is not accuacy. Also too many contacts too early for her. She tried hard but NQ. The up note is she still made time so I was hopeful.

Diva was next up in Std. She had a nice run going until the weaves and then missed the entry. I called her back and she started barking at me and then lost her mind. She was yapping all the way around the rest of the course. I was nice and chewed out by the end.

Over to the JWW, Ember did a nice job despite the course not being very open in the beginning and I didn't get up enough speed for her to get up much speed in the weaves. Regardless, she was clean and Q'd for her first MXJ leg. No MACH points because she just made time but that is Ember.:smile2:

Diva's run in JWW was beautiful. I was so heartbroken because I thought she had Q'd and gotten her title but she dropped a bar which I didn't see or hear. Dang. Just to compare, Diva was 16 secs faster than Ember on this course.

I didn't have anyone to record Ember's run in Std but it was a nice effort. She did better on the contacts and I can see pinwheels never seem to be at any speed for her. But the serpitine was really nice. She got her first MX leg and 3 MACH points.

Diva had a nice run again ruined by the weaves. She popped out at 10 and I don't know why, I know I didn't move early. I pulled her back for a retry and she started barking at me again and I told her quiet and she didn't go over the top today but she popped out at 10 again so I just went on. The rest was nice.

Ember then Q'd in JWW for her 2nd MXJ leg and 1 more MACH point. I really don't know why she started so slow. She almost looked like she was spike jumping. She didn't move fast enough and she got in my way before the weaves poles so I had to go to the far side of the poles to keep her in and then front cross at the end. Fortunately she seemed to kick it medium gear and finished better. I really would like to see the dog that ran at class on Monday who had some speed.. I don't care about the MACH points because we are only trying for the MX/MXJ (as Ember and I will before be dead before we get enough points) but I would like a little more speed. But she is making time so I can't be unhappy.

The end of the day brought other good run from Diva. This time she kept all the bars up and earned her AXJ with a first place. It would have been fast enough for 4th in Ex B 12". So proud of her.:smile2:

We have 1 more day tomorrow and everyone is in Ex B for everything I will post back the results.

Very nice! I bet it's hard going from running Ember to Diva back to back. They run quite differently--though both had some really nice runs!

Just so you know, I am going to kidnap Diva and she is going to come and live with me :biggrin2:

It is difficult because it throws my timing all off. I would have rather run Diva first because some how I get suprised by how much faster Diva is. I had that problem today in JWW, I ran Ember and she Q'd just making time which suprised me because she felt better than that I guess the weaves where super slow and then Diva went not 10 mins later and it didn't go well right off the bat because she out ran me to the spot because I didn't do enough of a lead out(I ran with Ember almost from the start and figured I was far enough ahead with Diva, wrong) It just went downhill from there. Of course, Diva told me about it.

I really think I was just getting tired and lost focus that last jumpers run. A long day and a long weekend. It had rained heavy overnight and the ground was soaked this morning. Ember gave me a great effort in Std despite the wet steamy conditions, she had it too until I popped her out of the weaves. :( Then It was Diva's turn. Diva was on fire in std. At one point on course there was a serpentine(very s shaped) and she slipped and fell flat on her side after the first jump and before the tire , the crowd gasped and I heard more than saw her go down and it sounded like a thump on a ripe watermelon. She knocked the wind out of herself for a few secs, shook her head and popped up and took the tire into then turned into the weaves barely missing a beat. I figured she was fine and went with it. She still finished 20 seconds under course time for her first MACH points. (unfortunately camera malfunctioned and no video).

In summary, We finished the weekend with 1 MX leg, 3 MXJ legs, 1 QQ and 4 MACH points(yes a 1 point per Q avg,) for Ember and an AXJ title, 1 MX leg and 20 MACH points for Diva. Not a bad weekend. I have video of Ember's runs today and Diva's JWW starring her inept handler that I will share hen they are done uploading.
