Thanks to all who posted the great advice on the gentle leader question I had. I took back both of Keena’s gentle leader collars I purchased at Pet Co. and I got a full refund. They were very accommodating without a receipt. 'm sticking to my loop leash and I'm just being patient. Here's a new question and I'd appreciate your experienced advice. My 9 week old puppy is afraid to cross the threshold of my back door on her own. There is a brass kick plate on the door which seemed to upset her when she saw her reflection. I covered that up with paper a few days ago. She runs back in through the door on the "come" command, but I can't get her to cross it on her own on the way out. I've tried luring her with treats, peanut butter on a spoon and left a little trail of peanut butter, threw her ball out the door, but she stops dead cold at the threshold. I really want her to make the effort on her own, as not to enable her, but for now I must carry her out. I'm hoping as she gets a little bigger, it won't be an issue. Anyone ever have this before? Otherwise, she is a great dog and not showing other signs of neurotic behavior, except she's still a little nervous in the car. Thanks again in advance! This forum is a WEALTH of information, encouragement and advice! So glad I found it.
