How do you like yours so far? Is there any pros or cons? I am trying to decide which one to buy.

Thanks sable

I have the pedi paws. just got it 2 weeks ago. so far I think its ok. it goes through batteries, and wheels pretty quick when you have 4 dogs to file. it is a little awkward to use, I dont know if its because I am left handed. my dogs are not too crazy about the noise it makes, but they tolerate it. I do have problems using it on my oldest sheltie pepper, her nails are shaped weird though. also I have found it works better if you use it once a week on the nails.

Nails

Personally I dont like it at all. I would rather spend the money on a regular Dremel. My dog doesn't mind it.Really it is a dremel with a fancy name and a cover. That is just my opinion.

Peticure

I have the Peticure and I love it. I use it weekly and it really does a good job of keeping the nails trimmed.

Its a little slow but at least it doesn't freak Bacca out. He would not let me clip his nails but after introducing it to him slowly he sleeps through most of it now.

It really is just a fancy dremmel though - I think someone saw it on eBay for $25 at one time. But I paid a little more and got the "pro" - it does not use batteries, but has an extra long cord.

Cheers

Thanks!

I am going to look at the Peticure one. Its a shame when you spend money and you think its great, and it turns out so so, or its a bummer. Like this wonderful shaver I bought, that does not do what I bought it for. Shaves the paws ok, but I was more interested in the butt. I am scissor cutting again. Bah Humbug to the shavers.

Yeah - on the advice of (Ann? I think?) I use a ladies shaver only on Bacca's paws - to trim the top and around his nails. It does an amazing job. Much easier then shears. Then I use scissors on his pads and finish again with the shaver.

Fortunately, Bacca's fur growth and his diet have aligned such that trimming his butt has yet to be an issue. But I do believe scissors are the only way to deal with the nasties!

Do look at your pup's diet! I had horrible problems with Timber, but so far zero problems with Bacca. I'm convinced that Timber was on the wrong diet for years and I didn't even realize it.

Thanks! The little diva has so much hair is the biggest problem, and it looks like tootsie rolls that hang if I don't get that area. Oh she is something else when it comes to keeping herself clean, she doesn't. I feed the two Wellnes, and it seems to be fine with thier poop business, she is just something else.

I always accuse the breeder she used miracle grow on her. She has shed so much, and it doesn't look like she has shed a hair. Now she is three this year, and this might be the end of a coat growing in, oh I hope so. I sweep two times a day, to keep up with two of them shedding, she is the worst to keep up with. Good thing I like her! LOL
