Shedding season Uggg!

What's interesting is that I have heard some people say, including one Sheltie owner, that they don't shed. I wonder what planet they're living on.
One with cleaning and grooming elves, I bet.

Olive doesn't even have that profuse of a coat this year (thank you skin allergies ) and she's rubbing on everything. I'm brushing her out every night while we're watching TV to try and keep a handle on it. Last night was the annual dog swim with our HOA so the bath after didn't help matters either.

I want to take Watson for a good bath and blow out at a groomer.... I'm just concerned that they might go too crazy... will the undercoat only come out of it is loose and ready to blow or would they be able to strip it all out even if it's not loose? It's bad enough he's got a half coat right now I don't want him to be without all the under fluff when it starts to get cold.

Furminator

All 4 dogs are shedding like mad! Brush them 1 day and the next day it doesn't look like I touched them! :eek2:

I have also come to the realization that grooming 4 dogs in 1 day is a bit too much for me to handle while I am pregnant (11 weeks left! ) I think its time to see if some 4H kids want to practice grooming the hairy beasts

Oh also for those that seen my post about hubs allergies, the test results showed no animal allergies! But he does have allergies to ragweed mainly and also to other seasonal pollens.

I've been fortunate to have Shelties in my life since I was six years old. Done my share of grooming.

Last year, my hubby bought us a Furminator for Christmas. It's the best grooming tool I ever owned. We're a multi species family, and my Maine Coon cat loves it, too. Cuts through heavy coats and removes hair like magic. Oster makes a grooming tool like it that's less pricey.

Happy grooming!
