If his kidneys aren't processing well, the toxins will circulate in the bloodstream and can cause the symptoms resembling dementia. Eventually it can lead to seizures.
Thankfully, for Miko, no seizures. I'm grateful for that.
I don't understand the 3 teeth around a canine comment. There should be 1 canine, 6 incisors and then 1 canine on the bottom. Going back into the mouth there should be 4 premolars before the molars. Many dogs are missing premolars which has nothing to do with what they eat, or when they were neutered, and everything to do with genetics or outside influence such as damage, veterinary removal etc.
You should ask this vet what most of his comments and that of his tech really mean so that you can "see" what they do.
Sorry for the confusion. Okay, so let's say Koji is facing to the left. Behind his canine, to the right (going further into his mouth) there is a small cluster of 3 teeth, then two more pre-molars. So, I guess if there's supposed to be 4, then he's got an extra in there. The vet said they're inflamed so he'd want to check them out closer, do x-rays if/when I do a dental and then decide if he needs to pull one or more. The only reason I said that bit about not maturing is because there's a lot of things about him that never "finished maturing". I mean, when a breeder felt him, she thought he was one year old or so. She was a bit shocked when I told her, he was 5 (or was he 4). The she started telling me all the things that "didn't happen" that should have. Kinda freaked me out.
