Simba's second trial

Two weeks after our first trial we decided to try out a KC show. Well Simba went and smashed it. We still aren't confident on the seesaw and so I decided to skip in and go for the elimination. Then we tried out 1-3 combined jumping and placed 2nd with no faults and a time of 31 seconds. He amazes me constantly. He was nervous as this was a very big show and their was hundreds of people and dogs around and a lot of noise. There was no barrier around the rings only a thin string to separate them. The minute he stepped foot into the ring the nervous where gone he stayed with me the whole time and his nose didn't go to the ground once :biggrin2:

After a few short months of training I can't believe how amazing he is. I can't wait till this time next year to see how much we have progressed. Who knows we might have even won up a grade

That is fantastic, many congratulations to you and Simba! It is so exciting when all the training pays off. :biggrin2: Very good decision to skip the seesaw if he's not confident yet.

I guess your outdoor shows are coming to an end now too. Are you able to carry on training over the winter and maybe get to some indoor ones - they are a lot of fun.:smile2:

That's really great! Did you get any video? :smile2:

Thank you :) I was on my own at the show so unfortunately no video but we have one more show this year and my friend will be with me so I will be able to get one then. There where a few people from my club there but they where busy helping out. I'll post a video after the next one :biggrin2:

Thank you. All of the hard work is really paying of and the move into the advanced class has really helped. I know that the confidence will come and he is so young so no point in scaring him now.

Ye only one more outdoor show for me this year. We train outdoors but classes still run weather permitting. There aren't any indoor hows near me but I know there in an indoor winter league about a 2 hour drive so I might get 1 or 2 in over the winter :biggrin2:

It's a problem getting videos when you're on your own. Jessica filmed me for a bit but the results were....well rather queasy :ick and the best bits often got missed off as she was too busy watching to remember to film :rolleyes2: So I sacked my seven year old as cameraman (actually she quit )and now collar any bystanders around the ring. There's almost always a 'willing volunteer' to conscript providing the camera is straightforward to use.

Good luck in your next show. I train outdoors too so it can be a bit hit and miss over the winter but the indoor leagues are fun.

I do the same--just grab any person hanging around. Most people are more than willing! Sometimes if there's a gate steward that's even easier :)
