So exited ! Registerd my pup for agility training !

Class #2 - MUCH, MUCH better ! I spent a lot of time this past week having him step on and off weird things - so he def has that down now !

We did a mini-ramp up and down, and some small jumps, and I had him hopping through a hoop jump and doing just single weave poles. I point now and tell him 'Go', and he does !

He was much less reserved than last week, and was listening better and when he lost focus on what we were doing, he came back much faster. Lots of distractions there with the kenneled dogs near the training area, barking their heads off. But it's all really good for him.

I think he's still pretty unsure about the whole thing, but he does try very hard to do what I ask. That's enough for me !

Great progress! Just that fact that he's learning so quickly shows that he is enjoying it (I believe :smile2:).

The training you are doing at home seems to have really helped. Can't wait to read up on how much progress he makes!

We start tomorrow - Romeo is an 11 month old bi-black. I've done all his basic training myself, so this will be his first time in a group like this.

I think he'll do well at it - he is really smart and picks stuff up fast, and loves to play games with me (like fetch and tugs and stuff). He tries so darn hard to do what I want !

No real goals, just looking for something fun to do with the little guy !

Hubby and I enrolled Bentley and Zoey in agility training in December 2011. Wanted something fun to do with them and now we're addicted. We too have weave poles and tunnels, but they are in our back yard...lol. We are now in the Intermediate training and both of our guys are registered with USDAA. Our very first trial is coming up May 25 (our wedding anniversary and Bentley's birthday).

Wow trialing allready?Good Luck!!

Wow
... seems early! You must have done a lot of acclimatising the dogs to the trial environment to be this far already :biggrin2:
What do you have her entered in?
I have been at it two years and Toffee has only competed in three trials thus far ( only in starters jumpers) and it's getting better and better with each trial :D
Good luck, on your first trials! :smile2:

Class #3 - I could see the little light bulb going on ... he is starting to have FUN ! We did a line of 4 jumps to the hold table, and he had to sit and wait. Did it the first time on the leash PERFECTLY, so we tried it off the leash - again, PERFECTLY.

Did a open tunnel for the first time. He wasn't too sure at first, but I pointed and said 'Go' and he scooted right through and looked for his treat at the other side. Pretty darn good, I think !

Did some very beginner weavers, on and off leash. He tries so hard for me .

He's still not sure about the baby teeter. I have one at home that I am working with him on. I have books under either end so that it wiggles just a bit. He goes on it but is concerned, and I am going to take it slow.
